🔎 Why Does the Meta Matter?
The meta refers to what Heroes in Marvel Rivals define themselves as the absolute best ones to pick when playing. The majority of players, especially competitive ones who play a lot of ranked matches, choose to main certain Heroes to spend the majority of their time playing with. Picking a main is important so you can spend the most time trying to master that Heroes’ abilities. A lot of professional players have a specific Hero that they’re unstoppable with, but that can only mean so much if that Hero naturally has too many counters. Want some of the latest Skins? 🔴 Deadpool
Deadpool is one of the first Jack of all Trades type of Hero that can fill up just about any role a team might be lacking in. That makes him incredibly versatile and powerful especially if played by a good player. He can quite literally switch between several forms of himself to take over the frontlines, flank for extra burst damage, and even switch between melee and range damage outputs. However, he becomes more powerful as fights drag on, so you gotta play accordingly with his Style Meter.
❄️ Emma Frost
Emma Frost is one of the best Frontline Vanguards you can have on your team. She has a very short range and mobility, but makes up for it with her defensive abilities that keep enemies close and trapped. Her main gameplay loop is poking enemy players while using her Diamond Form to really get her damage in. Her Ultimate ability opens for her teammates to get more attacks which helps work as a special Support move.
🧲 Magneto
Magneto is a much tankier Hero compared to the previous listings. His role is as a Defense Hero or Tank by deploying Shields and using his defenses to protect his team from heavier attacks. He’s perfect for the frontlines to run headfirst into battle and being a hard Hero to take down. His kit primarily consists of AOE attacks with his Ultimate literally sucking up all potential damage to let out again.
♠️ Gambit
Gambit is a very effective healer while still having the capabilities to play incredibly aggressively. He’s the perfect Hero for players that enjoy taking a Supportive role while still being able to join the fight actively. Gambit can hold his own very well by lashing out cards for burst damage. He even has self-healing abilities and great mobility that overall make him feel amazing to play as. For almost all meta teams out there, Gambit is the usual Support you’ll tend to see a lot.
🔥 Phoenix
While Gambit leans more into the Supportive role while having an aggressive flair to his kit, Phoenix goes all-in on her attacking role. She’s a fantastic Hero pick for those who enjoy going into 1v1’s against the enemy. Her attack speed is incredibly fast by using her Spark while also having self-heals similar to Gambit’s kit. This not only makes her self-sufficient, but her Ultimate is able to counter just about anything.
⚜️ Loki
Loki is a bit more like your traditional Support with a few twists that make him stand out. His strongest ability is his Ultimate which allows him to copy any other Hero’s abilities and Ultimate for a short period. When timed correctly, this can be an absolutely devastating move that can annihilate and throw off lots of enemy players, if not the whole team! His clones also help keep him versatile amongst brawl and dive Heroes considerably.
💥 Hela
Hela is a very obvious choice for the meta considering her ability to insta-kill other players. However, there’s a caveat to playing such a powerful character. She’s very reliant on achieving headshots and sniping others. Because of this, she has an incredibly high learning curve to her kit that requires lots of match practice. This mainly concerns your aiming skills, but once mastered, she’s unstoppable!
🌲 Groot
If you’re more interested in changing the course of the map and controlling how enemy teams run around lanes, then Groot is your Hero! His main ability utilizes walls that he can spawn which can block whole entryways. This can be huge if you have good map knowledge. He can disrupt the strategies of the enemy teams and even where healers are tracking their allies.
